Original "Home" 18x24" painting

“Home” was purely an accident. I had a completely different painting in mind when I put the first few layers on. The surface I was painting on was slanted and so the orangey brown swoop was just the paint rushing in the direction of the slant. As I rolled with the punches of this painting not going to plan, it slowly started to gain its own life and vision. Ultimately being what you see today. I titled this piece “Home”, because it reminds me of our city of Vancouver. You can experience the vast mountains and the wild ocean all in the same day. It also reminds me of the many drives through the rockies going to visit my brother and his family in Alberta. It’s captures so much of what I love of natures vastness and yet its detail. Peep the tiny sailboat if you didn’t notice. I hope this piece warms your heart and sets your heart on fire for adventure, just like it does mine.
