About:
“Risk Taker” was once a bright but “safe” painting. I had been exploring that specific style for a while and was longing to break out of the box, but honestly I was too scared to do so. “What if I ruin it?” or “What if what I choose to do is bad or wrong?” these were the kinds of thoughts I was having. Then one of my sweet housemates told me to “Take a risk!”and so I did. Standing on a chair bottle of paint in my hand, teetering on the brink of risking it all, I squeezed and let my arm swing. Lines of neon pink and light yellow landed perfectly inperfect across the safe lines. I’m not one to give myself this title quickly, so I gave it to my painting instead. But that day I was a risk taker. I hope that as you pass this painting day in and day out that it would remind you to take a risk, a life of wonder might be on the other side.
